Evergreen backs onto the south side of Fish Creek Park, with Stoney Trail on the west. The north end, Evergreen Estates, dates to the late 1980s. Most of the rest went up from about 1999 into the 2000s. It's almost all detached family homes, and most of them have had kids grow up in them.
That's what junk removal in Evergreen tends to look like: a bunk bed, a basketball hoop, the toddler stuff that somehow stayed in the basement. Set it at the end of the driveway by 8 am on a Tuesday or Friday. You don't need to be home.
Where to leave it in Evergreen
Front garages and driveways are the standard here. The bottom of the driveway, off the sidewalk, is the spot.
A lot of Evergreen streets are crescents and cul-de-sacs that fill up with parked cars. Leave a gap at the curb so we can pull in close, especially on garbage day.
If you're in Evergreen Estates with a bigger lot and a longer driveway, bring things to the street end anyway. We'd rather not drive on your pad.
What people get rid of in Evergreen
A family neighbourhood that's getting older. Typical pickups:
- Bunk beds, cribs and kids' mattresses
- Toy kitchens, plastic playhouses and broken scooters
- A trampoline frame, taken apart
- The basement couch after a rec room update
Bagged leaves and branches from yards near the park are fine too.
