Sandstone Valley started building in 1982, on the north side of Berkshire Boulevard with Nose Hill Park just to the southwest. It's almost entirely detached houses, most of them owned, and many by the same people who bought them new.
Forty years in one house leaves a lot in the garage. That's most of the junk pickup in Sandstone Valley: the slow clear-out, one load at a time. Put it on the driveway by 8 am on Tuesday or Friday. You can be out. We'll text a photo when it's gone.
Where to leave it in Sandstone Valley
The houses here mostly have front garages on curving streets and crescents. The bottom of the driveway is the simplest spot.
If you're on a crescent where cars park tight, leave room at the end of the driveway so the truck can pull in close. We carry everything ourselves, so a shorter walk makes a difference.
If an item is heavy and already in the garage, leave the door open and the item near the front. Note it in your booking.
Set things out that morning. Not the night before.
What people get rid of in Sandstone Valley
Original owners, 1980s houses, garages that have been storage for decades. Expect:
- Workbenches, shelving units and old tool chests (empty)
- Lawn mowers with the gas drained
- Rec room furniture from the 80s and 90s
- Exercise equipment that hasn't moved in years
Metal goes to scrap and anything a charity will use goes to donation.
