Scenic Acres sits inside a loop formed by Crowchild Trail and Nose Hill Drive, with Stoney Trail on the west and Crowfoot Station at its edge. It dates to the early 1980s, and nearly every house is a detached home. Very few are rented.
Lots of people here bought young and raised kids in the same house. Now the basement is due for a change. Junk removal in Scenic Acres is often the first step: clear out the old stuff so the reno can start. Leave it at the end of the driveway by 8 am Tuesday or Friday. We'll handle the rest without you there.
Where to leave it in Scenic Acres
Front garages and driveways, mostly. Bottom of the driveway is the easy spot.
A few houses on the hillier streets have steep or long driveways. If carrying something down is a struggle, leave it just inside the open garage door. That still counts as curbside.
Items go out the morning of pickup. Leaving them overnight invites rain, and magpies love a garbage bag.
What people get rid of in Scenic Acres
Houses from the early 80s, often on their second big reno. A typical load:
- Basement carpet and underlay, rolled and tied
- Old built-in shelving and a bar from the rec room
- Light pool and ping pong tables (slate tables are too heavy for one person)
- Sofas and recliners going out as the new furniture comes in
